The search is under way for a new rector for St. James' Thanks to all 91 of you who responded to the Parish Survey either on your computer or on a paper copy. The results have been compiled by the Diocese’s “Survey Monkey” computer program and sent to the search committee. A copy of the multiple choice survey results are posted below. It appears that most of us want the same things for our parish and in our new rector, a good sign for our search. The committee is studying the results carefully, and will meet September 7th to complete the Parish Search Request form required by the Diocese. From your responses the committee will formulate: (1) the four goals of the parish for the next few years, (2) the specific ministry specialties we want our next rector to have to implement these goals and (3) a brief description of our parish. St. James’ information will then be posted by the national Church Deployment Office (CDO) on its web site that lists parish vacancies. The committee will meet with our consultant the weekend of September 12-13 after which we will be ready to begin receiving names of prospective new rectors. Names will come to us from CDO, the Bishop and from you. Forms will be available for you to recommend priests for consideration. Names submitted from all sources will be confidential throughout the search process and afterward. The committee is also working on the Parish Profile booklet that will be sent to potential candidates. We will post this on the website as soon as it is available.
